Chapel

  • Classes attend group worship time with classes of similar age-levels.
  • Weekly Bible lessons are taught.
  • Students sing praise and worship songs, often with interactive hand-motions.
  • Students are recognized on or near their birthday.
  • Pledge of Allegiance is recited.

Music

  • Each class attends Music at a specified time each week.
  • Students learn and sing fun songs about the seasons, loving each other and Jesus.
  • Through games, students learn age-appropriate musical concepts such as steady-beat, rhythm, and in the older classes, musical symbols such as notes and clef signs.
  • Students learn songs that they will sing at our school-wide programs.
  • Students enjoy playing with simple instruments to enhance their love of music.

Science

  • Each class attends Science at a specified time each week.
  • Students learn about all of God’s creation through hands-on exploration, lessons, games, activities, investigations, experiments, and observation.
  • Some areas of study are fossils, planets, insects, flowers, and the human body.
  • Learning is reinforced through class projects.

Art

  • Each 3-day class attends Art at a specified time every other week, with the exception of the Kindergarten class who attends weekly.
  • Students are offered basic instruction in artistic elements such as line, shape, color and texture for student’s own self-expression and development as a creative being.
  • Students are exposed to the study of various famous artists and their work to foster a sense of art appreciation and life enrichment by experiencing through this art, the student’s connectedness to the world around them.
  • Learning is reinforced through class projects and songs.

Physical Education

  • Each 3-day class attends PE at a specified time every other week, with the exception of the Kindergarten class who attends weekly.
  • The class usually meets in the gym or outside depending on the activity.
  • Students learn fitness skills and fun fitness games that enhance gross motor development.
  • Students talk about making healthy life choices regarding taking care of our bodies.
  • Concepts such as cooperation, teamwork, taking turns, fair-play, and positive attitudes are discussed and practiced each class.
